Patrick Grimone teaches oboe and piano at the Community Music School of Springfield. He began his musical education on the piano at the age of seven, and continued his formal training on the oboe at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and the University of Maryland. His primary teachers include Mark Ostoich, Dwight Parry, Christopher Philpotts, and Mark Hill.
Patrick currently serves as Utility Oboe and English Horn with the New England Repertory Orchestra and substitutes with the Glens Falls Symphony Orchestra (NY) and other local regional orchestras. He has performed with the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Early Music Ensemble, OperaMaya Festival, and the American Wind Symphony Orchestra. He was the oboist with Oculus [Five], the fellowship woodwind quintet at the University of Maryland, where he performed, taught, and held residency programs in the Greater Washington, D.C. area.
As an educator, Patrick has taught piano at the Sheridan School in Washington D.C. and private oboe lessons at the University of Maryland. In addition to his music teaching, Patrick holds a master’s degree in German Studies. He teaches German at the Community College System of NH and previously at the University of Rhode Island and University of Cincinnati. He also serves as the German and Music Teacher at the Libertas Academy Charter School in Springfield, MA.
