Position Description:
CMSS seeks a part-time intern to support our front desk/reception team. This position is responsible for helping create a welcoming environment for all who come to CMSS, answering questions, and directing inquiries to the proper staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain consistent punctuality and reliability for all shift hours assigned
  • As part of CMSS’ front desk reception team, help all students, staff and visitors feel welcome and comfortable in our space, treating all with respect and empathy to support an organizational culture of equity
  • Answer incoming calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff
  • Process and record tuition payments
  • Provide clerical support including data entry, mailing, scanning, copying and maintaining organizational calendars
  • Address any facility, faculty or customer issues that may arise during shift, elevating as needed to a manager
  • Other tasks as assigned

Hours

Hours may vary and will be finalized/confirmed during the hiring process.  During the summer, CMSS is open Monday-Thursday, 8am-7pm and Friday 8am-6pm.

Required Qualifications:

  • Responsible, reliable, and punctual
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills; Ability to communicate compassionately and respectfully with people from a different races, ethnicities, cultures, genders, abilities and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Comfortable with computers, and able to quickly learn new technology
  • Ability to work collaboratively and share responsibility with colleagues, develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • Open to learning new things and adaptable to changes

Preferred Qualifications: Fluent in English and Spanish

Pay rate: $17 per hour
