Springfield Jazz and Roots Festival

Each year we’re proud to be a part of Blues to Green’s opens in a new windowSpringfield Jazz and Roots Festival.
On Saturday, our summer session students will kick off the festival in the Second Line Parade and on the Main Stage:
11:30am: Second Line Parade
12:00pm: Performance on Main Stage
12:30pm: Members of our Children’s Chorus of Springfield share the stage with Grammy Award-winning vocalist Lisa Fischer to perform Melanie Athena’s “Mother Earth.”
Chalk for Change: A Community celebration during Springfield Jazz and Roots festival!
Developed as part of the Trust Transfer Project during the pandemic, opens in a new windowChalk for Change emerged as a beacon of hope and positivity when people were yearning for connection and uplifting experiences. Strategically placed at the bus stations and other key locations, vibrant chalk murals convey powerful messages of community support and unity. As life began to normalize, this initiative aimed to provide beautiful and inspiring visuals for those venturing back out into the community.
Join us for LIVE PAINTING EVENTS on the evening of Friday, July 12, and Saturday, July 13th.
On Saturday, be sure to visit the Chalk for Change murals at the locations listed below and participate in community art projects led by Common Wealth Murals.
