Community Music School of Springfield seeks a part time bassoon teacher.

CMSS faculty teach private music lessons, group classes and/or ensembles at CMSS and in our community partnership programs. Faculty members are responsible for providing high quality music instruction grounded in CMSS’ mission to provide an equitable and inclusive center of excellence in music education that empowers individuals, inspires creative passion, and promotes well-being in our greater community. Teachers at CMSS are expected to be knowledgeable in the literature, technique and pedagogy of their instruments or disciplines. CMSS faculty must have sensitivity and responsiveness to the individual needs and musical goals of their students, and an awareness of their overall impact on students’ musical and personal growth. Additional opportunities for faculty include teaching for Sonido Musica, the Adaptive Music Program or other community partnership programs, Great Gigs, leading or teaching summer programs, leading new or existing ensembles or classes, and program coordinator positions. Professional development and continued learning and growth is encouraged and supported for CMSS faculty.
Private lesson rates currently range from $32 – $42 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Additional rates apply for lesson preparation, ensemble instruction, performances and other programs. Professional development is encouraged and supported.
