Stephanie Railsback

Violin / Viola

Stephanie Railsback has been teaching violin and viola for over 30 years in schools and in her teaching studio. She believes that music lessons give students the opportunity to experience success, giving them an appetite for more success, a rise in self-esteem, and the ability to imagine future possibilities for their lives.

Stephanie attended Northwestern University and received her Bachelor of Music in viola performance from Indiana University. She is an active member of the American String Teachers Association and is co-author of the best-selling Musician’s Practice Planner.

Stephanie performs extensively as a member of the Oakland Symphony and has performed in the San Francisco Symphony, Carmel Bach Festival, and Spoleto Festival. She was also a violist for a U.S. tour with Eric Clapton.
