Jimin Han began studying piano at the age of five. Han made her solo debut recital at age 17 at the Young San Arts Performance Hall, one of the biggest recital halls in Seoul, Korea, while studying at the Sunhwa Arts High School. Han earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in piano performance from Yonsei University in Seoul, then moved to the United States to pursue a Doctorate of Musical Arts at The Hartt School.
Han has won competitions at Chopin International Competition in Hartford, Paderewski International Competition in Hartford, Beijing International Music Festival Academy in Beijing and Teenager National Competition in Seoul. She participated in international music festicals and has performed in master classes for Solomon Mikowsky, Oxana Yablonskaya, Georgi Gromov, Jerom Lowenthal, Graham Scott, Peter Takacs, Ian Hobson, Boaz Sharon, and Marc Silvermann. Her previous teachers are Kyung-seun Pee, Ian Yung-wook Yoo. Besides solo playing, as a dedicated chamber musician, Han formed a piano trio named “Mi Trio.” Currently she is a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate with a full scholarships at The Hartt School with Professor David Westfall.Explore all faculty and instruments
