DESCRIPTION:Each year we’re proud to be a part of Blues to Green’s Springfield Jazz and Roots Festival. \nOn Saturday\, our summer session students will kick off the festival in the Second Line Parade and on the Main Stage:\n11:30am: Second Line Parade \n12:00pm: Performance on Main Stage \n12:30pm: Members of our Children’s Chorus of Springfield share the stage with Grammy Award-winning vocalist Lisa Fischer to perform Melanie Athena’s “Mother Earth.” \n \nChalk for Change: A Community celebration during Springfield Jazz and Roots festival!\n\n\n\nDeveloped as part of the Trust Transfer Project during the pandemic\, Chalk for Change emerged as a beacon of hope and positivity when people were yearning for connection and uplifting experiences. Strategically placed at the bus stations and other key locations\, vibrant chalk murals convey powerful messages of community support and unity. As life began to normalize\, this initiative aimed to provide beautiful and inspiring visuals for those venturing back out into the community. \n\n\n\n\nJoin us for LIVE PAINTING EVENTS on the evening of Friday\, July 12\, and Saturday\, July 13th.  \nOn Saturday\, be sure to visit the Chalk for Change murals at the locations listed below and participate in community art projects led by Common Wealth Murals. \nChalk For Change Locations: \n\nMain Street\, at south entrance to Tower Square Park\nMain Street & Bridge Street\nCorner of Barnes Street & Bridge Street\nCorner of Stearns Square & Worthington Street\nWorthington Street & Stearns Square Park\nWorthington Street\, at Smith’s Billiards
