Speaking of Music…

Speaking of Music… is a monthly lecture series featuring professionals in all areas of the music industry.  From performers to educators, engineers to entrepreneurs, find out what a career in music could look like for you!

Eric Berlin

As students in a pursuit to make a career out of something you love, you often get hit with opposition.  The idea of “Get A Real Job” causes many to get that 9-5 job that often forces us to give up on our passion.  Too often when someone decides to make music a career, the stereotype emerges that you will either become a struggling school band teacher, or you will be spending your time on the street corners playing for change.

Speaking of Music… is designed to give you a wider understanding of what is actually available to you as a professional in the music world – as often times, even in college, you don’t see everything that is available to you.  Over the course of the year, we will feature various guests including full time performers, store owners, music producers, college professors, vocal coaches, and much more!
